Bircher Muesli
Ingredients
- 1 cup of oatmeal
- Half a cup of orange juice
- Half a cup of plain yogurt
- Half a cup dried raisins (currants or sultanas good also)
- Half a cup of chopped dried apricots
- A pinch of ground nutmeg
- A large pinch of ground cinnamon
- 1 Granny smith apple
- 2 tablespoons plain yogurt (extra garnishing)
- 1 cup of seasonal berries
Directions
- Combine the oats, juice, yogurt, raisins, apricots, nutmeg and cinnamon in a large bowl and stir well. Cover and chill overnight
- To serve, grate the apple and stir into the mixture, pour into serving bowls and garnish with the extra yogurt and berries
Notes
You can save on doing dishes by using one container instead of 2 bowls for the mixing and serving for breakfast.
