Simple Cheese Omelet

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 spoonful of butter
  • 1 shallot or half a small onion diced
  • 1/4 cup of grated cheese (block works better than pre-grated)

Directions

  1. Lightly whisk the eggs together with salt & pepper in a bowl
  2. Throw some butter on the pan and melt it over medium-high heat until it starts to bubble
  3. Toss the diced shallots and onions into the pan and let it cook until translucent
  4. Pour the egg into the pan and tilt it to coat evenly. Use a spatula to slowly pull the raw egg to the middle to even out the cooking time between the middle and the edges
  5. Add the grated cheese on top and fold once the top of the omelet is cooked then serve.

Notes

If you wish to add any vegetables or herbs, add them at step 5 with the cheese.
